Description:
The Roswell Rocket, originally a playground slide from 1956, has been transformed into a public art installation in Roswell, New Mexico. After its retirement in 2018 due to safety concerns, artist Josh Berry restored it as a monument to both childhood memories and the local legacy of space exploration. The new sculpture stands taller and features LED lighting and reclaimed steel, evoking themes of nostalgia and rocketry. It is now a centerpiece of Main Street, honoring the town's historical connection to space travel.
