Description:

This cattle herder has his origins in Spain and is the precursor of the American cowboy. As the methodology of driving cattle was refined in Mexico and thus remained a cultural mainstay in the Southwest, the bronze statue is a symbol paying homage to the way of life in these parts. He was created by Mike Hamby in 2008 and is a part of the collection of bronze sculptures on Main Street.
