This passageway from Broadway and 190th to the station extends over 1000 feet under Washington Heights. It's a popular pedestrian way for people to cross. At 173 feet below street level it is the deepest subway in the system, it also features tracks, platforms, and an elevator. The bright hues and bold artwork give vivacity to an atmosphere that might otherwise be bleak.
