Bannerman Castle

In the Hudson River, a castle seemingly from an Arthurian legend is situated on a tiny island called Pollepel. The sprawling structure, partially ruined, looks like it has been the inspiration for many a fantasy novel but its purpose was as a surplus military warehouse. The Bannerman Trust operates tours via passenger boat or kayak. Every third Sunday, a self-guided tour with live music is given.
