Boldt Castle

The castle is a tragic love story. Hotel magnate George Boldt had started construction of the castle and adjacent buildings in 1900. However, after the abrupt death of his beloved wife in 1904 he ceased all building, leaving the castle and the grounds as a monument. The castle was left unattended until 1977 when it was acquired and finally restored and maintained. The island is only accessible by water so you'll have to find a boat tour operator first. When you get there admission is around $10 per person.
