Description:
These ruins go back to the colonial wars between the French and British built in the 1730s. Originally built by the French it subsequently was taken by the British and then the Americans in 1775. With such a colorful and complex history, this fort is a great place for history buffs. The museum includes a multimedia orientation program, large scale models, and original artifacts. Grounds are open year round with admission around $4 per person. Check the website for current operating hours.
