Fort Ticonderoga

This sprawling fort was built by the French in 1758. It has seen much of the military campaigns of the colonial days in American history - including the French and Indian War and the early part of the Revolution. Not knowing its importance in history, people stripped it bare after its abandonment in 1781. Now a tourist attraction, the Vabian-style fort has been restored to its former condition where you can witness reenactments of events from the 18th century.
