Gore Mountain Gem & Mineral Shop

This open-pit quarry will give you the chance to find a garnet. The Barton Garnet Mine is not exactly a mine but an open pit quarry where blasting has left bits and pieces of garnet on the ground. Tours leave on the hour, taking about an hour as you drive down into the quarry behind the tour guides. You'll get the history of the "mine" and an opportunity to looks around for some garnets. The gift shop has everything garnet you could imagine and there's also garnet dust you can pour into bottles.
