The Howe Caverns are the second most visited natural attraction in New York State, following Niagara Falls. Located in Schoharie County, New York, Howe Caverns are a popular tourist attraction because cave lovers are provided with a sense of spelunking without the need of advanced equipment and training usually associated with that adventure. Next to the cave in a former hotel is the Cave House Museum of Mining & Geology. The museum features exhibits relating to the cave's geology and formation, rock and mineral specimens, history, tourism, wildlife, and background on the area's cement industry.
