Description:
This military and maritime history museum has a collection of ships and is based in New York City at Pier 86 on Manhattan's west side. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, founded in 1982, showcases the (former) aircraft carrier the USS Intrepid, the USS Growler submarine, a Concorde SST, a Lockheed A-12 supersonic reconnaissance plane, and the Space Shuttle Enterprise.
