Description:
Keene Steakhouse, founded in 1885, was already popular for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century! But it's also known for another reason - Keens owns the largest collection of churchwarden pipes (90,000 of them) lining the ceilings. These pipes had once been smoked by customers after dinner. The membership roster of the Pipe Club included some notable names such as Teddy Roosevelt, Babe Ruth, Will Rogers, Billy Rose, Grace Moore, Albert Einstein, General Douglas MacArthur, and Buffalo Bill Cody, to name a few!
