Mt. Beacon Railway Incline Ruins

In 1902 this was the spot of the world's steepest funicular at an elevation of 1,200 feet and a maximum gradient of 74%. The funicular ceased operations in the 1970s, and finally a fire destroyed what was left in 1983. You can see a 360 degree view of the Hudson River and Valley. Make sure you're wearing good walking shoes because a hike and a staircase are part of the fun of getting there!
