Niagara Whirlpool

This natural whirlpool straddles the U.S.-Canadian border. Downstream from Niagara Falls, it probably formed about 4,200 years ago, a result of upstream erosion. If you're on the Toronto side, you're in luck as there is an air-gondola that will transport you over the vortex so that you can see it up-close. On the U.S. side you can view it from an overlook. Getting there is simple - park at the Whirlpool State Park lot and follow the signs for the trail to the overlook. (Submitted by Omar Medina)
