Reclining Liberty by Zaq Landsberg

An original take on the oft-copied Lady Liberty allows the 135-year-old American beacon of freedom a rest. She lies on her side, head resting on her elbow-propped hand. Eyes closed, she is either napping, slumbering, or pondering her role as a symbol of the United States. The 25-foot-long sculpture was installed in 2021 by Zaq Landsberg who coated her in plastic resin and finished it with a copper paint and oxidizing acid that mimics that greenish patina of the real one on Liberty Island.
