Ellicottville, NY and its neighboring areas have etched their names in Ellicottville's history through a remarkable act of generosity - donating their old skis to construct a one-of-a-kind Christmas tree. This extraordinary holiday structure proudly graces the front lawn of the Ellicottville Historical Museum, located on Washington Street. The inception of this idea can be attributed to Tyler Burns and John Nelson, an esteemed Ellicottville attorney, who felt that their community deserved a more splendid Christmas tree. Burns drew inspiration from the renowned "Telluride Ski Tree" in Telluride, CO, which stands at a remarkable height of 17 feet. The Ellicottville tree, towering at over 30 feet, showcases the collaborative effort of the community, adorning it with approximately 400 skis. (Submitted by Jessica Dickey)
