Survivor Tree

This callery pear tree was severely damaged on the 9/11 attacks, but was rehabilitated. The symbolic Survivor Tree was returned to its original spot in 2010 after its almost decade-long rehabilitation. Each year the 9/11 Memorial gives seedlings from the Survivor Tree to three communities that have endured tragedy in recent years. (Submitted by Allen Von Plinsky)
