Description:

Triphammer Falls, a 55-foot cascading waterfall, serves as a stunning centerpiece of Cornell University's campus. Open from dawn to dusk with no entry fee, the falls welcome visitors, including those with leashed dogs, though swimming is prohibited. Named after the Triphammer forge that operated in the 1820s, the falls hold historical significance. University founder Ezra Cornell fell in love with this spot upon arriving in Ithaca and made his mark by constructing the first Beebe Lake Dam, which provided year-round waterpower to downstream mills.
