Battleship North Carolina
Launched in 1940, USS North Carolina served in the Pacific Theater of WWII. She was decommissioned in 1960 and was purchased from the Navy with donations from school children who gave up their lunch money. Now a museum, the ship is open for self-guided tours. You can see the lives of sailors during wartime - how they lived and worked on a battleship. Living quarters, armaments, and gun turrets are a few of the interactive displays here.
