Boone’s Cave

Boone's Cave located in a park of the same name was named after the pioneer Daniel Boone. The cave is about 140 feet deep, although much of it is too narrow to stand upright. Although unsubstantiated, it is said that the park is where a teenage Daniel Boone and his family took refuge to escape Native Americans. It is confirmed they eventually settled in what is now Davie County - near to the park.
