Outside the Bordeaux Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, stands an approximately 100-foot-tall replica of Paris's iconic Eiffel Tower. Installed in 1971, a few years after the shopping plaza was first established in 1964, the tower lends a certain “je ne sais quoi,” or distinctive character, to the shopping plaza named for the French city known as the world’s wine capital. The tower is occasionally illuminated to mark special occasions, such as being lit in red, white, and blue for Independence Day. This distinctive structure highlights Fayetteville's unique blend of local culture and international flair.
