The Big Chair is a Duncan Phyfe-style chair and is the largest in the world of this type. It's probably the prettiest too - with gracefully curving armrests and legs and a painted a nice shade of maroon. The chair is also a symbol of the town's renowned furniture maker, Thomasville, which had constructed the original Big Chair in 1922.
