Former Governors' Mansion

This Victorian-style mansion was built in the latter part of the 19th century for a wealthy businessman. After it was sold to the state it became the governor's home from 1893-1960. The home, although simple compared to its East Coast and Southern counterparts, has been restored and kept in mint condition. The period furnishings and interior design are indicative of the lifestyle of upper-class North Dakotans during the early 1900s.
