Kempton Abandoned Schoolhouse

Although in disrepair,this one-room schoolhouse with a tall steeple atop a cupola still stands strong. The school is one of the few buildings on a flat parcel of land. It was built in 1884, but since the population never grew the school became unnecessary. Before it was abandoned it looked like someone had turned it into a garage. Today, it would probably look right at home in a B-movie horror flick on a streaming service. To get there take 37th St. NE and turn east on 10th Ave NE. You'll see the schoolhouse less than a half-mile on your left.
