Description:

This monument was built to commemorate the 20th U.S. President who was assassinated in 1881. While his death is not as noteworthy as Lincoln's it was still a huge shock to the nation who mourned grievously for him. Underneath the Gothic Romanesque memorial lies the crypt of Garfield, his wife, daughter, and son-in-law.
