Description:
Eischen’s Bar opened in 1896 in Okarche and is widely regarded as the oldest bar in Oklahoma, surviving Prohibition, family handovers, and even a devastating 1993 fire that led to a careful rebuild. The bar became especially famous in the 1960s when George “Boog” Eischen introduced its now iconic fried chicken, which remains the top draw for visitors from across the state. Served with simple sides like white bread, pickles, and onions, the chicken anchors a small menu that also includes chili, roast beef and barbecue sandwiches, nachos, and fried okra.
