Fort Reno in El Reno

Built in 1874, this visitor center and museum has a wealth of information spanning different periods of history. Exhibits include artifacts and images of the 1888 Cheyenne and Arapaho Agency, WWII German POW letters, Buffalo Soldiers, and artwork by Frederic Remington. Famous people to have stepped foot (or aircraft) on these grounds include Amelia Earhart, Will Rogers, and Black Jack the riderless horse. (Submitted by Shirley Beauchemin Thurston)
