In August of 2021 this museum opened its doors, a momentous event in Tulsa. The museum commemorates the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre when white mobs burned 35 blocks of the thriving Black neighborhood of Greenwood to the ground thereby murdering at least 37 people, although more modern reports put the number at 100. The outstanding exhibits include videos, dioramas, and plenty of interpretive material. While the museum highlights a tragic part of Oklahoman history, visitors will find that the lessons learned here are just as relevant today. (Submitted by Amber Malone)
