General Custer led a surprise attack against a Cheyenne village on November 27, 1868 - one of the many tragedies of the Great Plains Wars. The site is surrounded by plains and not much else, but the visitor's center and the wealth of information gained here are well worth the trip. (Submitted by Rick Boales)
