Description:

This unique promontory resembles a battleship, but it was actually named for a violent confrontation in 1851 between the Qua-to-mah native people and New Jersey-born Captain William Tichenor. Today it's a fantastic venue with a natural amphitheater with great acoustics. If you go at low tide, you can walk at the bottom of the promontory to explore the arches and caves. The path to the beach is one of the easier ones along the Oregon Coast. Amenities include a visitor center, restrooms, and a foot wash station.
