Description:
This was a cinnabar mine first discovered in 1930 and named for the smoky blue haze along the ridge when seen from afar. Cinnabar is the most common ore for extracting the toxic elemental mercury and was mined at almost 40 meters deep. After the ore was mined it was put into the nearby furnaces. Operations ceased soon thereafter in 1940. There are no official tours of the mine so take extra precautions when wandering around.
