Cathedral Tree

A massive Sitka spruce, Cathedral Tree looks like its namesake structure from its base. It's a whopping 300 years old and has grown (and is still growing) to 8.5 feet in diameter and 200 feet in height. The singularly unique evergreen is easy to get to - it's about 1/3 of a mile from Irving Avenue trailhead. If you continue on further west, you'll reach the Astoria Column.
