Crescent Lake

Shimmering turquoise waters run deep, but the lake is renowned for its crystal clear quality. During the last Ice Age glaciers cut through the valley, isolating the lake. It's estimated to be about 596 feet deep and a lack of nitrogen helps inhibit algae growth, lending its singular clarity. For recreation check out one of the hiking trails going through the mountains, picnic on the lake, or row a boat across the translucent waters.
