Description:
Danish-born Rasmus Peterson spent the last two decades of his life to creating this mineral utopia, finally passing in 1952. Since then the garden has been a destination for Oregon road trips and has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Materials such as malachite, lava, agate, fossils, and semiprecious gemstones were used to construct the garden which was a homage to Peterson's love for his newly adopted country. Now in a state of disrepair the future of this landmark hangs in the balance.
