Rochester Covered Bridge

Saves: 31
Check-ins: 7
Floyd Frear built this bridge in 1933. The arched windows give the bridge a unique appearance as most covered bridges lack this kind of feature. In the 1950s the wheels of progress were speeding along and old wooden bridges were being burned down to make way for the more modern concrete type. To save this bridge locals guarded it through the night with rifles in hand. In 1969 after the fear of destruction was abated the bridge got a facelift and has been well-maintained ever since.
