Description:

A cute cottage facing the Neawanna Creek houses the history of this little town - ancient and more recent. Artifacts and drawings dating back 2,000 years were uncovered, digs conducted by the Smithsonian Institution in the 1970s. Other exhibits cover the 1800s and 1900s, when settlers, railroads, and industry came to the area. The cottage itself known as the Butterfield Cottage was built in 1912 and has been restored to its original condition along with the furniture and decorations. The museum is free of charge - a great deal for a valuable learning experience.
