The Freakybuttrue Peculiarium

This is Oregon's answer to Ripley's Believe It or Not - a little museum and curios shop dedicated to the strange and fantastic. The Peculiarium claims to have been founded by the Oregon wilderness expert Conrad Talmadge Elwood in 1967. Even if that claim is not entirely true, the contents of the museum are attractively repulsive. Take, for instance, the dollhouse from hell. Called the "Haunted Dollhouse," it's a Bates Motel-style Victorian house with bloody murder scenes displayed in the tiny rooms. After meandering around the small area head to the gift shop for your ice cream topped with real larvae and scorpions.
