Description:

The first lighthouse was built in 1855, but its placement along the river channel contributed to its collapse as the banks eroded over the next decade. The current lighthouse was finished in 1894, built high above the channel. Today, it shines with a rare red Fresnel lens. You must schedule a tour to see the lighthouse or climb to the top. Don't forget to visit the cape-style cottage that houses the lighthouse museum and gift shop.
