Description:

This viewpoint is conveniently located right off the Oregon Coast Highway and you can simply pull into the parking lot and gaze out on the ocean. The best time to go is at sunrise or sunset when the sky is alight with different hues. It's named for the giant sea stack that looks like a whale's head. The waves crashing against the sea stack look like water spraying out of a blowhole. There is also a tiny, steep trail that leads down to the beach, although take care not to brush up against poison oak that grows in the area. The viewpoint is open 24/7.
