Description:
Even if the lighthouse isn't open, this is a worthy stop for the scenic views framing a splendid structure. One of the more picturesque lighthouses with living quarters, it was built in 1871. It's composed of wood placed on a natural foundation. When a docent is in attendance, you can see the first floor and watch a short film about the history the lighthouse and Yaquina Bay. The structure is accessible via paved trails and a walkway that leads to the top of the hill within the Yaquina Bay State Park at the north end of Yaquina Bay.
