Description:
Within Hickory Run State, spread across the Pocono Mountains in Kidder and Penn Forest Townships in Carbon County, Pennsylvania you'll discover a huge boulder field situated in the park's northeast corner. Accessed either by car on Boulder Field Road or a 3.5-mile hike on Boulder Field Trail, the field was created about 20,000 years ago during the glacial period. Visitors can never resist hopping from boulder to boulder across the field. The field has been designated a National Natural Landmark.
