Drake Well Museum

Who would believe that the oil industry began in Titusville, PA? Well, it did! In 1859, Edwin L. Drake drilled the first well ever and at the Drake Well Museum you can see the reconstructed oil well demonstrating salt drilling techniques for the extraction of petroleum. The museum tells the whole story and details the modern oil industry with videos and exhibits plus actual operating oil field machinery! There's also picnic pavilions, biking, hiking, fishing, and canoeing plus a ride on the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad!
