Description:
The Mount Washington Tavern, open seasonally from May 1 to October 31, daily from 10 AM to 4 PM, offers a self-guided tour of its furnished rooms with interpretive signs detailing its history. Built in the 1830s along the National Road, the tavern was a key stop for Good Intent stagecoaches. It featured a barroom for men, a parlor for women and children, and a communal dining room with a large table for all guests. While the kitchen was busy behind the scenes, the second floor housed dormitory-style bedrooms for overnight guests, segregated by gender.
