Scranton, PA may not be as famous as Philly and Pittsburgh but the two Ps can't boast a reputation as the "Electric City." Electric lights were introduced in Scranton as early as 1880 and they proudly advertise this with the gigantic lighted sign which reads, "SCRANTON THE ELECTRIC CITY." However, the sign has been revamped in recent years and now reflects the 21st century's energy-efficient ways with 1,300 LED bulbs.
