The Sturgis Pretzel House of Lititz, PA was founded in 1861 and is the oldest commercial pretzel bakery in the U.S. The structure was built in 1784 and is one of the original structures in Lititz. The Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery is on the list of National Register of Historic Places. The Sturgis Pretzel recipe was derived from the French monasteries and have been made in Lititz since 1850.
