If you have a fascination with the 1800s this is the place for you. The institute was founded in 1855 and remains in the same building in which it started. It is a living snapshot of the 19th century where much of the interior has not changed for over 150 years. Because the founder, William Wagner, believed in free education the institute strives to uphold his philosophy by offering courses for young and old at no cost. In keeping with its name there is no charge for admission but be kind and leave a donation!
