Description:

Winslow Hill is the most popular elk-viewing site in Pennsylvania with two viewing areas and off-road parking. During August through October (rut season), listen for the bugling of the male elk. Explore the many trails and dirt roads for wildlife such as white-tailed deer, black bear, fox, wild turkeys, Eastern Towhees, and various songbirds. The best viewing times are at dusk and dawn. Location: From Pennfield, travel northeast on PA 255 for 6.5 miles to PA 555. Veer east (right) onto PA 555 and drive 9.8 miles to the village of Benezette. In Benezette, turn north (left) onto Winslow Hill Road and follow it 3.6 miles to the viewing area on the west (left) side of the road.
