Evocative of the era from which it came, the Paradise School is a charming example of the one-room classroom that once served as the primary place education for children. It is one of four surviving one-room schoolhouses in Middletown but remains remarkably preserved in its original state although there is now central heating in place of a pot-bellied stove. The quaint building now serves as a small museum and the headquarters for the Middletown Historical Society.
