Description:

The “Eye of the Storm” is a striking, dome-shaped beach house on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina designed with a reinforced concrete and steel shell to weather the harshest Atlantic storms while offering expansive ocean views. Built in the early 1990s after Hurricane Hugo destroyed the original home on the site, its horizontal prolate ellipsoid form combines futuristic appeal with practical hurricane resistance. With generous light-filled living spaces and balconies overlooking the water, the residence feels both sculptural and serenely connected to its coastal setting.
