Fred W. Symmes Chapel

A chapel with a stunning view of the hills of Greenville County is a great place for people of any faith to pray, meditate, or ponder life. As part of the YMCA it is open to the public. The chapel sits atop Stone Mountain, 3,000 feet above sea level. The associated Camp Greenville has been in existence since 1912 and covers 1,400 acres. It is a year-round operation serving as a Summer Camp, Environmental Education Center, Group & Conference Center, and wedding venue. The grounds are open every day from sunrise to sunset, although it's best to get there earlier in order to avoid the crowds. (Submitted by Cameron Gilliland)
