Description:
Sculptor Ed Dwight created this 14-foot-tall bronze sculpture of Harriet Tubman. On either side, figures of enslaved individuals are shown rushing toward freedom and refuge. A Union soldier stands on each side, representing Tubman’s significant role in Beaufort as a scout, spy, cook, and leader of the legendary Combahee River Raid.
